By now, whoever has been persistent enough to get up to this point should realise the complexity of the task that the Digital Media Project has to carry out to achieve its goal. The same persistent reader should also realise that, if these pages have provided elements for a common basis of knowledge, just the surface has been scratched and much more remains to be done. The many case studies examined should have offered at least some interpretation tools to enable understanding of the complex phenomena triggered by Digital Media Technologies. Having at least partly achieved these two goals, it should be possible to start devising strategies to remove the hurdles and finally deliver on the promises of the Digital Media Revolution. The persistent reader should not think that, having accomplished the first two steps, I should feel entitled to give a farewell. I have no intention of stopping my ride on the media bits and these pages are not my memoirs. God pleasing, they are just the stepping stone for the Digital Media Project's third step, i.e. the complete realisation of the objectives of the Digital Media Revolution. I encourage reading the Digital Media Project and join me in this new, hopefully last, endeavour. |
