Question Answer
I am interested in capturing MicroMV video in Mac OS X. MicroMV is MPEG 2 TS, and so far, I do not know of a solution. It is Sony's format, and Apple has not yet acknowledged it. I was hoping that QuickTime's new MPEG 2 playback component would address this problem, but I understand it does not. Do you have any ideas? I do not have the least idea

I wanted to convert a 1 1/2 minute piece of dvd movie into a file that I could email to friends. When you type dvd to mpeg on a search engine you get dozens of software packages that claim to convert dvd to mpeg capable and mailable files. I downloaded one but it did not contain audio. So, what do you want MPEG to tell you?
I am looking for information regarding the ability to implement video record and playback compression and decompression in software, to ensure that future MPEG formats can be accommodated without a hardware change.
Any information or references would be greatly appreciated.
I do not have the references you are seeking. Please be advised, however, that software implementations of MPEG standards are well known and deployed.
I have question to MPEG-4: What is the different between MPEG-4 (described in the document "MPEG-4 - The Media Standard [The Landscape of advanced multimedia coding, by the MPEG-4 Industry Forum]) and MPEG-4 part 10? I never found any information about the varieties between these two codecs, so I hope you can help me. It is odd that you ask me about a paper posted on another web site. MPEG-4 part 2 and part 10 are to different standards even though they share quite a few important technological elements
I have one question for MPEG data. In MPEG4 data, it often refers "ISO/IEC JTC1/SC29/WG11 N2564 or N2458". What is the meaning of N2564 or N2458? It is an internal document numbering. These documents are not accessible outside MPEG
Can a player that support Mpeg4 code be able to play mpeg 1 and/or mpeg 2 files? As MPEG-4 is not MPEG-1 or MPEG-2, in general an MPEG-4 player cannot play MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 content
What codec do I need to play M2V and SVCD on windows media 7: I do not have the least idea
