The MPEG-7 Visual Descriptors describe the visual features of images and video such as color, texture, shape and motion. etc.

2.       What kinds of visual descriptors are specified in MPEG-7 Visual Descriptors standard?

The MPEG-7 Visual Descriptors include the Dominant Color descriptors, Color Space Dxescriptor,  Region based Descriptor, Homogeneoud Texture Descriptor, ….

3.       How are the MPEG-7 Visual Descriptors defined?

An MPEG-7 Visual Descriptor defines the syntax and the semantics of a feature representation.

4.       What functionalities are provided by the MPEG-7 Visual Descriptors?

The MPEG-7 Visual Descriptors provides content-based image or video retrieval.

5.       How are the MPEG-7 Visual Descriptors computed or instantiated?

An MPEG-7 Visual Descriptor values are computed via a feature extraction process and represented in the standardized forms, which are binary data.

I don’t know about it. I need to count all the visual descriptors in FDIS.

A new visual descriptors can be submitted to MPEG meetings and the newly proposed descriptor is evaluated according to the MPEG standardization procedure in the MPEG-7 Standardization schedule.

13.   What are the Core Experiments in the MPEG-7 Visual Descriptors?

The Core Experiments are set up in order to investigate proposed visual descriptors. The results of the Corement Experiments are reviewed by the MPEG Video subgroup every MPEG meeting.
