Standards sometimes become “the law”, and legislation is commonly copyright-free. Databases in Standards and Standards as databases. How do we protect their intellectual value while we achieve their widespread dissemination?
Protection of databases as such is relatively new and it only exists in some countries, whereas in others, the protection is achieved through other means. However, more and more standards appear in the form of a database. This session will explore the existing alternatives for effective legal protection.
